Vivian Hsu, CFA

Vice President

As Vice President of Private Wealth for Fidelity, Vivian is responsible for evolving the company’s high net-worth strategy, leading operational platform implementation and managing a team of core functions, including relationship management, operations and portfolio management.

Vivian has over 15 years of investment industry experience. Before taking her current role, Vivian held several positions at Fidelity Investments Canada, including Director of Product Innovation and Director of ETFs and Alternatives. In 2018, Vivian helped lead the launch of Fidelity’s first ETFs in Canada, and in 2020, brought Fidelity’s first liquid alternative strategies to the Canadian marketplace. Before these responsibilities, she also spent time in the Institutional and Client Services divisions.

On a personal note, Vivian enjoys spending time with family and her dogs, and makes the most of Toronto’s beautiful summers and outdoor trails. She also loves travelling and exploring new cultures and cuisines.

Rachel Langan, CFA, CFP

Private Wealth Relationship Manager

Rachel has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, assisting individuals, families, charities, corporations and trusts to strategize their investments. She specializes in financial planning, which often includes estate planning, tax considerations and retirement and disability planning.

Alongside the Fidelity Private Wealth portfolio management team, Rachel assists in driving recommendations for client portfolios, including portfolio recommendations and execution.

Outside of work, Rachel spends most of her free time with her husband and two daughters. She is active in her community and serves as a board member of her children’s school childcare program. She also enjoys tennis, swimming and walks along Toronto’s beautiful Humber Trail.

Manjot Grewal, IMBA, CIM

Private Wealth Relationship Manager

Prior to joining Fidelity Private Wealth, Manjot worked at one of Canada’s largest financial institutions as a Portfolio Manager. Manjot has over 10 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry, dedicating her career to working directly with high net-worth individuals and families in predominately a discretionary portfolio management capacity. Drawing on her experience, Manjot focuses on creating meaningful relationships with clients to reach their long-term goals and objectives through tailored investment strategies.

As a Relationship Manager at Fidelity, Manjot has a strong understanding of individual client needs. With a genuine passion for people, Manjot believes that educating clients to become better informed about investing enables investors to make strong financial decisions. Manjot is committed to equipping Fidelity Private Wealth clients with the knowledge, tools and support to reach their goals through the implementation of comprehensive wealth management solutions.

Outside of work, Manjot has a strong passion for financial education and lifelong learning. Manjot has previously served as Member of the Landlord & Tenant Board with Tribunals Ontario, a Board of Director for Women of Powerline Technicians and a Team Ambassador for The Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Spencer Barnes, MSc, CFA

Private Wealth Portfolio Manager

Spencer has over a decade of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, including more than eight years in the financial services industry. Spencer’s expertise lies in integrating quantitative, data-driven analytics with meaningful qualitative research to provide deeper investment insights and better portfolio construction.

As a portfolio manager at Fidelity, Spencer is responsible for the portfolio construction, asset allocation and investment selection for Fidelity Private Wealth clients. This includes leveraging the power of Fidelity’s best investment ideas with robust portfolio construction techniques and risk management to ensure clients are positioned for success when it comes to their financial goals.

In his free time, Spencer loves getting outdoors, regardless of the season. During the summer months, it’s a mix of gardening, biking and backcountry camping with his partner, while over the winter months you can find Spencer skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing. Spencer also volunteered as a first responder with the Canadian Ski Patrol for over seven years at Blue Mountain Resort. As a ski patroller, he provided critical first aid services at one of Canada’s busiest ski resort and at summer events such as the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Giselle de Sousa, CPA, CA, TEP

Tax and Estates Planning Director

Giselle has over nine years of experience in the financial services industry, with a background in public accounting and wealth management. She specializes in high net worth taxation, including estate and trust planning, corporate reorganizations, and business succession planning.

As Tax and Estates Planning Director, Giselle acts as a subject matter expert, working with the relationship and portfolio management teams within Fidelity Private Wealth. She utilizes her expertise to provide guidance to clients on tax optimization and minimization strategies and tax and estate planning opportunities.

Outside of work, Giselle is passionate about travel and theatre. She has been to over 30 countries and is involved with community theatre groups in the GTA, both on and off stage. She enjoys leading an active lifestyle and spending time with her family and friends.

Alana Mangold, CPA, CA

Director, Fidelity Private Wealth Operations

Alana joined Fidelity Private Wealth in 2023 and brings with her over 15 years of financial services experience. In her role, Alana is responsible for front office operations and Private Wealth technology, with a focus on providing a best-in-class client experience.

Alana has held a variety of roles at Fidelity Investments Canada since joining in 2013. In her previous role as Director, Finance and Corporate Accounting, she helped lead many large system implementations and builds, including Oracle ERP, Retail, and Institutional Billing. As Director, she managed a large team in Canada while also building and overseeing a team based in India. Before joining Fidelity, Alana worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the external audit practice, focusing on financial services.

Alana is active in the Women’s Leadership Employee Resource Group at Fidelity, where she shares her experience and mentors other women. She is on the Audit and Risk committee for Ontario Cycling. Outside of work, Alana enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She likes to stay active with cycling, skiing, snowboarding, Pilates and weights. She also loves the outdoors, and most of her vacations are spent swimming, hiking or skiing.
